2013 Ram 1500 Top Speed

Anyone know what the top speed of a stock half ton Ram with the Hemi is? Will the computer shut it down at a certain speed? I would image the top end would be about the same for last years hemi and the new 390hp one.

107mph was my 2004 Ram. Would coast a little bit faster than that, but didn't shut off. Just hit 107 and would not accelerate anymore.

get a tuner and knock that speed limiter out!
I have a tuner......but I haven't touched that. No need for me to go that fast anymore.

I won't dare go that fast, I was just curious. I've moved out of a Ford Ranger that I have had for the past 12 years and I'm just not used to this kind of power. Now I know what my old man is talking about when he talks up the hemi's of 35 years ago.

Limiter blues
My 09 limits out at 110 to 115. Bummer. No I do not "need" to go faster,, but,, when you suck the doors off a little rattling honda, it sure feels bad to have him pass you on the big end..........

Um, don't tell anyone, but I just "HAD" to get infront of some annoying F150 that held everyone up, so from a standing start at the lights on top of an overpass turning left in the right hand lane, by the time I reached the highway underneath I was doing 168km/h (104mph) before I had to hit the anchors back to 110 km/h, but it felt really strong and had lots more left, so they probably would have the limiter there a bit higher, but with all the cops around here, I don't think i'm gonna let it worry me too much..... but sure is good to feel those horses.....for a standard factory set up.

Regards to the Hemi's from ages gone by I think we benefit from better fuel economy (not by much though, nor as much as we should by now) and smoother idles and power delivery, but there's also something to be said for tire shredding off the line burnouts too that you get with Carby's (I miss my youth...)

I know it said 1500, but i got my 2500 to 101 or so and I swear the front end started to loose contact. Prob just my imagination but is was a rush to drive that much wait and size that fast.

Wow gentlemen. This 01 1500 hits 130+ at 4300 RPM in 5th......These trucks were made to be bad ass!

I have a 2010 ram makes 340 to the wheels with aftermarket bolt ons and my old tuner just went to 140 mph and it shut off in 5th at 3200 rpm so I'm sayin 150ish!

2011's have a limiter at 105mph or so I heard...

I set my diablo to 197mph..lol, have had it go to 140 (per gps) on a straight flat highway and no one around, well, I was racin a dodge charger once and pulled away when I think he hiit his limiter..

yea it was...adrenaline was flowing..we were pretty even til about 110 and then i started walkin him...he wasn't happy:wavey:

Hit 105 on my way to work this morning. Had to get in front of a cement mixer before the road turned to one lane. I didn't want to get stuck behind a rock thrower like that. When I passed him I was just over 101-102. The truck never lunged and shut down like my Chevy used to when I hit 100. When you hit the limiter, does it just keep you from going any faster or does it shut the motor down to idle like the Chevys?
